Kin's domain of the Taran-Ignatiev family

Kin's domain of the Taran-Ignatiev family

Ruslan and Victoria are a young and happy family. Not so long ago they lived in the center of a stuffy and noisy metropolis. Books of the Ringing Cedars of Russia prompted the couple to think about creating their own kin’s domain. Ruslan says that their land found them by itself: almost by accident they came to the kin’s settlement "Kolybel" and immediately realized that this was the place to create their own Space of Love. This happened in 2014, and today the kin’s domain of the Taran-Ignatiev family is prosperous, beautiful, and fertile. It was here that their youngest daughter was born a few years ago, and the parents are very happy that she is growing up in harmony with Nature, and not in the city.

"I rejoice when I see our girls here: running, growing, playing with the neighbor's children... I rejoice when I see the work of our thoughts and hands around me: plants, flowers, fruits, swings, all these cozy corners, a house..."- says Victoria.

The kin's domain is located in a fabulous place. This is a meadow with a small northern and a large southern slope. On three sides, the plot is surrounded by neighbors' plots, and on the fourth side, a beautiful pine forest rises. The Kazaikha River flows nearby with icy water, where it is +6 all year round. On the border of the plot there is a spring that hits directly from the mountain.

On this beautiful land, Ruslan and Victoria built a spacious house and a large cellar for vegetables, fruits, and pickles. Now they are building a bathhouse. For 8 years, the family planted hundreds of trees and shrubs, and some of them grew themselves — for example, young apple trees that were "planted by birds."

Dozens of different vegetables grow in a large garden that have never come into contact with chemical fertilizers. There are zucchini, peppers, beans, onions, celery, cucumbers, cabbage, tomatoes... Now, at the end of August, it is time to harvest and preserve vegetables for the winter. Victoria makes pickles and freezes a part of the vegetables so that in the cold season they can be eaten "as if they were fresh from the garden".

A large number of different berries grow here. Berries also delight the family all winter thanks to freezing. There are many mushrooms on the plot that grow in shady places. The daughters of Ruslan and Victoria are especially fond of collecting them, because this is such an exciting search process!

Victoria's great passion is healing and fragrant herbs. Some of the herbs she grows on the site, some collects in the surrounding forests. Victoria tries to approach the collection and drying of herbs consciously: "I used to come to the field and just tear ... I took them home, dried them, put them away for the winter ... And I collected a lot! I have matured and become more attentive, more careful and patient. Before the collection of herbs I thank them, stroke them, tell them what I want. I carefully collect and dry. Each herb has its own character, and its own task".

Of course, family life is not only about growing crops. They actively participate in the life of the settlement: help in organizing holidays and guest events, and sometimes go to visit other settlements to meet like-minded people and share their experience. Ruslan and Victoria love to go on small trips with their children. They introduce daughters to the world around them, to amazing Nature, animals, and plants.

Here is what Ruslan and Victoria say about their kin's domain: "There is everything here: the beauty of nature to delight our eyes; mushrooms, berries, fragrant herbs to nourish the body; contemplation, thoughts, and happiness. Now we know that everything is possible if you go towards your dream."
