Often, the desire to create a kin’s domain arises among established couples who are tired of the hustle and bustle of the city and the same gray everyday life. In search of new opportunities for a happy and free life, many families go to live in kin’s settlements.
But there are exceptions: Alexander and Kristina Stepanov have been living in their own kin’s domain since 2011. Nevertheless, each of them started to be interested in the topic of kin’s domains, the Anastasia movement and ecological lifestyle in general even before they became a family. It is safe to say that the interest in living "on the land" brought people together and eventually they created a family with common goals and interests.

But not everything was easy on the way to buying land to build their own house. Although the young people had already lived separately in kin’s settlements, but together they could not decide where they would build a house to live together. They chose the kin’s settlement Emelyanivka, where Alexander had previously lived.
"Fate put together all its strings of events and led us to this land, where we are now organizing our kin’s domain. We really love our little homeland. It is very beautiful. We are grateful to Fate and the Universe that everything happened this way. And our descendants will live here!" - says Alexander.
A blog about family life in kin’s domain
Alexander and Christina share their life on their family blog. They talk about their experience of creating a vegetable garden, relationships in a group of like-minded people, raising children, beekeeping, and detail the stages of building a house.

So, for example, telling about the stages of arrangement of the kin’s domain, young people write that it is necessary to start with a hedge.
"My husband and I, after planting the hedge, felt our kin’s domain. Immediately all the layouts began to be born easily. Where the lake, garden, and gazebo would be. Literally the next day after planting the first row of hedges, we planned the main buildings and plantings" - shares Christina.

Life in the kin’s settlement: learning a new profession
The family is convinced that life in the settlement is interesting and diverse! During the years of life in the kin’s domain the couple has many new hobbies, and Alexander even learned a new profession. For 8 years he has built 6 houses: a frame house, several log houses, a house made of gas block, and a house made of straw blocks. He has built about 10 stoves and one fireplace. And also participated in various stages of construction in several other houses.
"Of course this is still very little for a full-fledged profession, but still during this time the main thing has appeared - understanding of all processes and experience. If necessary, I can build a house." - says Alexander.

During the time he has been living in the kin’s domain, a feeling of freedom and lightness has appeared. There is more confidence in life and the future. There is no more fuss. The couple is convinced that they live a wonderful life in harmony with nature.
