Kin's settlement «Kolybel» («Cradle») is one of the many incarnations of ideas and images set forth in the books about the Ringing Cedars. “We are very close to the ideas of the revival of the Kin, the creation of the Space of Love, and the improvement of the habitat thanks to the joint creation of our settlement and the kin’s domains,” say the settlers.
The settlement is located in a picturesque valley with many pure springs, next to the forest. It occupies an area of more than 55 hectares. «Kolybel» was founded in 2010, the active construction of domains began in 2011. At the same time, the first residents finally moved from the city to their own Land, and now their ranks are regularly replenished. There are still vacant plots in the settlement.
Now about 20 families live in the settlement. Half of the population are kids, most families here have 3 and more children. Some of the children study at a school located in the nearest town (about 3 km from the settlement, there is a school bus), but many families have chosen the family education format.
One of the traditions of the settlement is to regularly hold days dedicated to joint work on the improvement of the common territory (1-2 times a month). Residents restored the pond located in the common area. A guest house has been built, and a common house for events and meetings of the settlers. In the common house there are rooms for study and for sports, joint trainings are held here in various sports - for example, in gymnastics or mixed martial arts.
In the «Kolybel» settlement each family creates their Space of Love according to their own project and in accordance with their preferences. There are houses of various types here: frame, log, timber, adobe, domed, round house, house made of pressed straw panels...
All residents are engaged in the revival and development of folk crafts. The settlement has masters in weaving, embroidery, wickerwork, wood carving, making folk costumes and amulet dolls, and much more. For most settlers, this is not just a hobby, but also a full-fledged eco-friendly and exciting business that allows their families to become completely self-sufficient. Someone has created an apiary and sells completely natural honey and products from it. Others make 100% organic soaps, adding natural ingredients to it — those that were lovingly grown in the domain or collected in the surrounding forests. Even home-made preserves from locals are in demand, because buyers know that they are made from vegetables and fruits that have never known chemical fertilizers!
Residents of the settlement often receive guests from other regions, hold interesting events with games, round dances, master classes, and spiritual practices.
