The story of moving to the kin’s domain of the Kuzmin family

When deciding to create a kin’s domain, each family determines its own conditions under which the move will take place: for some it is important to live in the kin’s settlement, others want to settle in the village, and for some even a summerhouse is enough. But on the way to creating a kin’s domain all families are united by one thing - the desire to live and create in harmony with nature despite the difficulties encountered on the way.

The Kuzmin family is no exception. Their story of moving "to the land" was not simple, with difficulties and repeated changes of residence, but in the end it led to what they dreamed of.

The story of moving to the kin’s domain of the Kuzmin family

Tatiana and her husband were natives of St. Petersburg. They lived like many people in big cities: with a daily home routine and work. But they dreamed of moving from a small apartment, in which they felt like a cage, to their own home away from the city.

When the Kuzmin family had no doubts that it was time to change their lifestyle and place of residence, their first move happened. They chose a kin’s settlement under construction near St. Petersburg.

The story of moving to the kin’s domain of the Kuzmin family

"My husband built his first house using straw technology, which was very successful and warm, and we lived in it for 6 years. Our eldest daughter Vedana was born there. But as time went on, we began to realize that it was time to move on and we started looking for a place to move to a more remote and natural place." - said Tatiana.

Their choice fell on Altai Region. The place attracted them with its climate, mountains, rivers, and the number of sunny days a year. The Kuzmins had to start anew, create a living space from scratch, because the new site had no electricity or water. For the first few days they lived in a tent until Tatiana's husband built a small house and connected all the necessary communications for life.

The story of moving to the kin’s domain of the Kuzmin family

"The village where we created our kin’s domain is quite large, stretching for 5 kilometers along the river. The population is a thousand people. There is a school, stores, a kindergarten, a library, a post office, and a bank. Basically, everything you need is there. And privacy, too." - shares the family.

Tatiana's husband provides for the family by his work in the city, which he has been doing for a long time - he is engaged in industrial mountaineering. Tatiana is busy raising daughters and preparing to create her own educational space for children in a free, natural format.

The story of moving to the kin’s domain of the Kuzmin family

The Kuzmin family is sure that they will not return to the city again. Living in an apartment after such freedom for body and soul is simply impossible. Having built their own kin’s domain, they have found the space to think and act and imagine their future life now only here, in the fields, forests, and the mountains!
