How cedar resin extract can help treat acid-dependent GI diseases

How cedar resin extract can help treat acid-dependent GI diseases

Acid-dependent GI diseases result from an imbalance between the protective mechanisms of the mucosa and the aggressive factors present in gastric juice. One such disease is gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), which is particularly common in patients with hiatal hernia[1]. In this condition, part of the stomach moves upward, the lower esophageal sphincter weakens and acid is thrown into the esophagus. As a result, the esophageal mucosa is exposed to acid, which can cause inflammation and erosions.

Effective therapy should combine drug treatment to reduce acid secretion, lifestyle changes to restore the balance between protective and aggressive factors, and adjuvant therapy. One of the effective aids in the treatment of acid-dependent GI diseases is cedar nut oil enriched with cedar resin.

Cedar resin extract is an effective means of auxiliary therapy in the treatment of acid-dependent GI diseases, including hiatal hernia. In such GI diseases there is an imbalance between the protective mechanisms of the mucous membrane and aggressive factors of gastric juice. Cedar resin extract helps to restore the mucous membrane, reduces inflammation, and helps to normalize acidity, thanks to essential fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants, and phytoncides in the composition.

Effect of cedar resin extract on the mucous membrane

Resin extract has anti-inflammatory and enveloping properties that contribute to the restoration of damaged mucous membranes of the GI tract. Due to its high content of polyunsaturated fats, cedar resin extract helps to form a protective layer on the mucosa, preventing irritation, and improving its regeneration, as well as helping to maintain healthy cell membranes.

Normalization of acidity with cedar resin extract

Resin extract helps reduce inflammation in the stomach, improves digestion, and helps normalize acidity[2]. The vitamins and phytoncides in cedar resin extract help improve digestion and nutrient absorption, protect mucosal cells from oxidative stress, which may also reduce the risk of inflammation and damage.

Cedar resin extract can also alleviate symptoms of heartburn, relieve the feeling of heaviness in the stomach, and improve the general condition of patients with acid-dependent GI diseases.
