Kin's settlements are a great place for the whole family, and especially for children. In such settlements, children develop faster than in cities, and there are several reasons for this.
For those who are just thinking about moving to their own kin's domain, the issue of education for children is often very acute. Some even have doubts: "Can children develop in the settlement? Are they developing enough?". The answer is YES, of course! In the settlements, children learn among people who dream of making the world a better place. They study with their parents or with neighbor parents who are close to them, whom they trust.
By "development", most parents mean several aspects at once:
1. Health
2. Spiritual qualities
3. Communication skills
4. Creativity
5. Intelligence
None of these aspects is left without attention in the kin's settlements.
1. Health
Every parent puts their child's health first. In the settlement, children breathe fresh air, walk a lot in any weather, and eat organic food. Children move a lot: run, ride bicycles, and swim. Almost all settlements have their own playgrounds. Sports competitions for children are regularly organized - for example, "Mountain Games" in the Belarusian settlement "Zvon-Gora"!
2. Spiritual qualities
In children, it is important to bring up honesty, justice, kindness, mercy, empathy, responsiveness, and the ability to see beauty. Life in the settlement is much more conducive to the development of these qualities than life in the city. There are no random people here, all the neighbors are familiar and friendly, and there is mutual assistance everywhere. Children are known to learn by looking at adults. There is no frantic rush here and the Joy of Being is much easier to understand and convey.
3. Communication skills
This aspect includes the development of speech, politeness, leadership qualities, and the ability to negotiate. In many communities, children do not go to regular kindergarten and do not attend public schools. But at the same time, they develop the ability to communicate. We mean it: to communicate, and not to obey an authoritarian adult.
Children play a lot with each other, often there is no adult around to resolve the situation during quarrels. They learn to negotiate on their own. The younger ones learn to interact with the older ones, the older ones learn to interact with the younger ones. Children go to visit each other, often without their parents. They have the opportunity to look at different models of family relationships from the inside. On common holidays, children watch how adults relax, how they behave at the table, dance, sing songs, talk, and make joint plans.
4. Creativity
Creativity in the global sense is freedom and independence, the ability to see beauty; in an applied sense, this is the skill to create beautiful things from different materials, singing, playing musical instruments, and dancing.
Very creative people live in all the settlements: performances are regularly staged here, they come up with unusual scenarios for holidays, go to plein airs, and create their own musical bands. By the way, this feature has a completely scientific justification. Studies have proven that being in the forest for a week increases creativity by 20%, and people on domains live surrounded by forests all year round! Adults, developing creatively, pass this passion on to their children. Many settlements have their own dance or theater clubs, and some go even further. For example, in the "Zdravoe" settlement, they founded their own theater "Assol", whose performances are attended by people from nearby cities. In the settlement "Atrika" every summer a "Summer School" is organized, the main task of which is to reveal the creative potential of kids.
5. Intelligence
The development of intelligence is an important task and, perhaps, the most difficult in the conditions of kin's settlements. Not all settlements are located near municipal schools, but the refusal to attend them only has a positive effect on the intellectual development of children!
Homeschooling, based on the emotional contact between the student and the teacher, is much more natural and less stressful for the child. Many settlements are opening their own schools that use alternative approaches to education. These approaches are more efficient and flexible than classic ones. Settlement "Chistoe Nebo" has a school that uses the advanced methods of the Summerhill School. Residents of the "Rodniki" settlement achieved the opening of a special "Native School" in the neighboring town, where children, along with standard subjects, study calligraphy, folk songs, and dances.
For the full development of children, it does not really matter where they are. The main thing is that parents are ready to pay attention, devote time and effort. In the kin's settlements, parents have more time for the development of their children, a harmonious and friendly atmosphere reigns here, and the children are happy.
