In 2009, a group of like-minded people took ownership of about 65 hectares of land and divided it into plots of at least 1 hectare for each participant – a member of the kin's settlement. A participant or a member of the kin's settlement is a family of one or more people.

"In 2013, my family became such a member of the kin's settlement. The children were small and my family rarely visited their plot, but this did not prevent other members of the kin's settlement from developing their dreams." - Alexander Yakovenko, a resident of the kin's settlement, recounts.

Despite the fact that each plot was initially envisioned as an autonomous unit, over time it became clear that effective development was possible only together. Common projects appeared: a road, a playground, a guest house. Initiative groups emerged, dealing with security, landscaping and organizing events.

Cooperation in the sphere of agriculture has become especially valuable. Exchange of experience, joint purchases of seeds and seedlings, mutual assistance in harvesting - all this allowed to increase the efficiency of personal labor and diversify the range of crops grown. Gradually, the settlers came to understand the need to create a cooperative to sell surplus produce and provide a stable income.

Of course, it is not without its difficulties. Different views on the development of the kin's settlement, domestic disputes, financial issues - all this is inevitable in any community. But the ability to negotiate, seek compromise and maintain respect for each other helps the settlers to overcome differences and move forward.

"The main thing is that we have a common aspiration - to live in harmony with nature and create a favorable environment for ourselves and our children." - the settlers share.

And this year the kin's settlement is already 16 years old! Time flies imperceptibly. Many families have built houses, started farms, and even opened a small business. New children and new families have appeared. Life in the kin's settlement Russko-Vedovo is boiling. Every year the settlers celebrate the birthday of the settlement, organize fairs, concerts, and just get together to share the joy of a common path.

And although not always everything goes smoothly, the spirit of mutual assistance and the desire to live on the land unites local residents who once decided to change their lives and went to the Russko-Vedovo settlement!
